House to House and Street Collection Register

About the registers

In order to carry out House to House, Business to Business or Street Collections for any charitable, benevolent or philanthropic purpose, a permit will generally be required from the Local Authority. In the Broadland District and South Norfolk areas these permits are issued by our Licensing Team.

Some larger charities hold an Exemption Certificate issued by the Cabinet Office which allows them to carry out House to House Collections without a permit. They should however still notify us that they are collecting in the area. Such collections are marked in the Register as 'exempt'.

Collections carried out by commercial companies, where it is made very clear that the collection is for a commercial (not charitable) purpose, also do not require a permit.
